How are you there?
Hope that you all are fine. Well, my solo show at Gallery
Tosei in Tokyo closed at the end of June.
There were so many people visiting the show, and I really appreciate
all of YOU who visited! Thank you!
I would really
like to thank to Mr. Kunihiro Takahashi, the president of Gallery
Tosei, and also thanks a lot to Ms. Maki Iwasaki and Ms.
Emi Fukuyama at Gallery Tosei, who helped my show
a lot. Also, thanks so much to Mr. Satoru Watanabe, the photographer
who helped my “Gallery Talk” show a lot. And, also thanks
a lot to Mr. Motoyuki Kubo and Ms. Yumiko Kubo at The PRINTS,
who printed 2 of my images as large prints. Thanks again to all of
YOU for your support!!!
Well, I could
have great time in Tokyo in June, specially at Gallery Tosei,
meeting so many photo-related people. Some of them talked to me about
their own dreams after looking at my work. I like to listen to something
around and beyond photography itself, so I was happy to listen to
such things, seeing other people’s subconscious world…
I guess that‘s the kind of communication that I really like
having through my photography! Again, thanks a lot to YOU all, and
hope to see you soon!!

Tosei is a wonderful photo gallery, and it’s especially
for Silver Gelatin Prints. My “Dreaming Spirals
(Yumemiru Rasen)” show includes both “Dreamscapes”
and “Dreams of the Amnesiac” series.
There will be 2 large digital prints (one is a new image!) on the
window of the gallery space as well, and these 2 prints are printed
with great help from The PRINTS in Tokyo.
*Gallery Talk (by Reiko Imoto with
Mr.Satoru Watanabe) will be held at Gallery
Tosei on June 13th (Fri), 19:00-21:00.
My Slideshows are going to be projected at the event.

One of my new
images, that I have been creating, was selected for the poster of
“Fall Art Festivals 2008” in San Antonio,

The next NEWS is;
My series of work
has been selected for participation in a 3 artist show
in galleries at Texas Woman’s University (TWU)
in Denton, TX, USA. The show will be held in October this year. I
haven’t met the other participating photographers yet, but I
had learnt about one of the photographers in a “contemporary
photo history class” when I was a student in the USA. I’m
very happy that my work will be presented along with their works respectably!
Looking forward to visiting the show and meeting the people!

I’ve been working on my new slideshows as well as a new series
of printed work! I hope to update them on this web site soon.
Well, I’ve found a camera called “Diana +” recently,
that is a remake version of the original “Diana”. I used
to look for the original one everywhere when I was living in the USA,
but I could never find it at that time. So, I’m quite happy
to have a “Diana+” and I’m looking forward to using
it with some colour films (!) as well. Let’s see how the images
will look like!

How are you all? Well, we actually have a couple of more days of this
year, and I’m still running with many things left to
do! Hope that you all are doing well and having a peaceful time :

* * I visited Tenerife in the Canary Islands this month to see Fotonoviembre,
the international photo biennale. The time I went there was around
the closing date for the biennale, so unfortunately, I couldn’t
see many shows, but the photo festival was well organized and the
shows I have visited including one of the group shows that I participated
looked great! Thanks a lot for the great help to Rosa Maria Hernandez
Suarez and the staff! Local people in Tenerife were so nice and friendly.
I also enjoyed the warm weather in the island and the food and a coffee
called “cortado leche y leche”! –

My show at Galleria Pusta in Katowice, Poland closed in the middle
of June. I just wanted to say thanks again to the people who helped
with the show and all of
YOU who visited the show! There were 736 visitors and I was so glad
to read the comments / messages that were left in my guest book, one
by one. It is interesting for me to know how people see, feel and
think in front of my art as a part of communications between ourselves.
Somebody wrote that a friend took the person to the show for his/her
birthday present with a surprise. What a sweet thing to do for others!
Our world is not totally too bad… thanks. There were many Polish
writings in the guest book as well, and I have read them all with
the help of a translator. I’m just happy to know that people
have wonderful minds that are poetic, philosophical, intelligent,
sensitive, honest, and dreamy…each person is unique and interesting.
THANKS and CHEERS to Katowice!!
Well, all of Europe has really strange weather recently… really
hot and sunny, or lots of thunder and raining, or cold and suddenly
snowy!! Who knows how this summer is going? Please take care with
whatever goes on! I will do the same.

Well, it’s already as hot as summer here in Belgium, and I feel
that time is passing so fast this year! I hope that you will have

How are you all?
My openings in Wroclaw, Poland (BWA gallery and La
Luz) were nicely held at the beginning of April!
Thanks so much for those of you who visited the show(s)! I really
enjoyed seeing and talking with the people. Meeting people is always
the best part for me when I have shows. They were full of visitors
for both BWA gallery and La Luz
for the opening receptions, and I was so impressed by the people’s
gentle manners and kindness during the openings.
I was also so
glad to meet many wonderful artists in Wroclaw. It was very inspiring
for me to know what they have been creating through their visions!
Also, it was great to see many musicians and a poetry actor whose
concerts and performance were held after my slideshow presentation
at La Luz. I really enjoyed their fantastic shows
at this wonderful place!

I visited Wroclaw in Poland last week again for the “catalogue
business”.
This time, the weather there was so mild, and the sunshine was really

wall at La luz for the month). Soon after my slideshows
presentation , there will be music concerts by 2 cool bands and a
recital by an actor from the UK in the same evening (from 20 pm).

The weather is changeable nowadays…but, when it is really like
spring, I enjoy seeing some Sakura (cherry blossoms) and listening
to birds' singing. Sakura here in Europe seems to start blooming earlier
than Sakura does in Japan, even though the European weather is colder
in the season… Huuum, it must be different kinds of Sakura trees
between here and there. Well, the flower's colour is lighter here
than Japan’s slightly pink ones. Anyway, the both ones look
lovely to my eyes.

Are you ready for the spring in your city? Here in Brussels is still
a bit cold, but I expect much warmer weather is coming very soon!
Last month, I visited Wroclaw in Poland
to discuss my upcoming show and a new catalogue publication.
Wroclaw is a very beautiful city with so many fantastic designs and
colours of classic buildings. I was so surprised that people there
were so energetic to enjoy outside activities in the city even at
night and the weather was freezing (–12 degrees Celsius !).
However, according to the local people, this winter was a warm one
in Poland and there were some flowers which have been blooming on

Another NEWS is...
* * My first monograph catalogue “Dreamscapes”,

In the main parts of the publication, 13 triptychs and 1 single image,
which are all of the pictures from the “Dreamscapes”
series are included. And also, 16 images from my previous series “Dreams
of the Amnesiac” are included as supporting parts of
the catalogue. The texts are in Polish and English. Please look forward

Another extra NEWS is...

in the present winter issue of “IMAGO”,

Hello there.
Thanks for visiting my web!
How has been this year started for you? I was traveling in New Zealand
during the new year. The landscapes with beautiful mountains and lakes
refreshed my mind and health.
I’ve recognized again that I loved being in nature. Brussels
where I live has a very little nature, so if I travel, I would love
to go for real nature as much as possible next time. Otherwise, I
try to stay home to spend lots of time for my creation this year!
How about your own aims and plans for this year?
Well, my next
solo show will be held from April 3rd until May 6th
in Wroclaw, Poland ( BWA
gallery ). This show will be a part of my Traveling Show
in Poland, after Poznan that was held last year. For the coming show
in Wroclaw, the image size of my “Dreamscapes”
series will become 4 times larger than before, and there will be no
frame or matte around the images… I’m excited to imagine
the atmosphere of the space with the new version of the “Dreamscapes”.
Following this show, there will be another “Dreamscapes”
show form May 9th until the end of June in Katowice,
Poland (Galeria Pusta). This is
also a part of the traveling show. I will announce more details about
the shows soon. Please look forward to it! Thanks!!
Belgium is sometimes
cold and sometimes warm nowadays. I’m not good at managing in
freezing winter, but it doesn’t feel right to have too much
warm winter either, as you know. I wish I could see beautiful snow
this year as well, even if the weather would be freezing ( sorry about
saying this if you’ve been having really cold winter.). Taking
pictures in snow would be something special that I haven’t experienced
for ages… I miss the magical feeling to look up the dark sky
with lots and lots of snowflakes! That makes me forget the coldness
of the winter… I would run out for it even if it’s late
at night! How are you all?

Here in Belgium is so hot this summer. We had some big fireworks in
Brussels recently. I love fireworks, and I feel that there is some
similarity between fireworks and dreams… they both are extraordinary
and ephemeral, but the impression of them could live in our mind forever…
Fireworks and Dreams are such “Tricksters” that would
make our everyday lives very fresh! If you have no chance to see fireworks,
let’s dream of fireworks!

Last month, I had an opening reception for the show, curated by Mr.
Maciej Szymanowicz from Galeria pf and Mrs.
Elzbieta Lubowicz form Wroclaw. Thanks very much
to you both!! Thanks also to Ms. Dominika
Karalus and Maja who helped my show and
the opening. It was very good to see many people, who came to my opening,
in spite of the world cup football game on TV that night. Thanks a
lot to all of YOU!
I was also impressed by the space of Galeria
pf that was located in an ex-Castle of the Kingdom of Prussia.
The Roman architecture was so beautiful indeed, and the interior of
the Galeria pf nicely matched the atmosphere of my
“Dreamscapes”! I’m glad.

* * Another news is… I’m going to join a group show that
will be held at an art gallery ( a-space newnew )
in Ashiya-city, Hyogo, Japan. 1 piece from my works
is planned to be included, and I’m now thinking about which
picture I will show.
···unfortunately, I cannot visit the show since
I'm living far away, but I’m still excited to be in the group
show! The details about the show will be announced soon!
Well, I’m well and now preparing for shows
in the USA (San Antonio, TX), France
(Nantes) that are planned in September, and in Switzerland
(Basel) for November. Hoping everything goes well!

Hello there. Thanks for visiting my web!
I've been so busy preparing for my shows in May. Excuse me for my
absence form the internet!
My show “Poetic Mysteries” at Japan Embassy in Brussels,
Belgium is now open, and I had the opening reception last week. I
was very happy to see all of YOU who visited the opening! THANK YOU
very much for your time and efforts to come over!! I really enjoyed
talking with you all. Thanks a lot for those of YOU who have come
to see my show before and after the opening as well!! I really appreciate
you all. Thanks a lot for the people at the embassy as well!
It was quite a difficult installation, since the show contains nearly
100 pictures, but I enjoyed hanging the past 5 series of my works
together, and this is probably the largest show I have ever had. Hope
that the visitors have enjoyed the show on their own as well!! If
you haven’t visited the show yet, please don’t miss it
; ) It will last until June 1st !

This month, 6 pieces from my “Dreamscapes”
series are selected to be exhibited at “Art Shanghai”

My show in Osaka, Japan (Feb 20th – Mar 11th) was happily finished
last month!
Thank YOU very much for those who came to the show and gave me the
warm comments on the work and talking about your own dreams!
I really enjoyed when people started talking about their own dreams.
I heard that even some of them had mysterious dreams at night after
visiting my show. I’m glad that our subconscious can be communicative
to each other somehow!
Thanks a lot those of you who sent beautiful flowers and some gifts!!

I'm planning to show the last 5 series (about 100 pictures!) of my
works that have some Surrealistic qualities, and it will be quite

* * My exhibitions "Dreamscapes" and "Dreams
of the Amnesiac" will be traveling in Poland in 2006
and 2007. The first show ("Dreamscapes")
will be held at Galeria Fotografii "pf"
in Poznan from June 12th, 2006. Then, 2 to 4 places / cities ( including
Galeria Pusta in Katowice; March-April in 2007, and
BWA gallery in Wroclaw... ) will be followed after.
